We are delighted to announce the signing of Emily Burns.
Emily re-joins our SWF Championship squad on loan from SWPL2 side St Johnstone for the second season.
Emily’s youth career saw her start of at Crieff Juniors then rise through the ranks at Jeanfield Swifts. Last season, Emily made her first step into denior football, joining the St Johnstone first team squad. The talented player has also had a brief loan spell with Alloa Athletic in the SWFL as well as a very successful loan period with Dryburgh last year.
Emily had this to say on re-joining our SWF Championship side “I’d like to thank the coaching staff at Dryburgh for working with St Johnstone to give me this opportunity to be joining on loan again this season and to be getting the opportunity to continue to develop as a player within the team.
I’m looking forward to getting started and working further with the coaching staff and players and to be making some contributions to the squad to help the team achieve their goals for this season.”
Dryburgh Athletic Coach Jordan Smith “Emily added real quality to the squad last season, so are delighted to welcome her back. She’s adaptable and can play in variety positions, so is a really good player to have within the squad. Thanks again to St Johnstone for allowing this deal".
Emily joined the team for training last night and will go straight into the squad to face Westdyke at Glenesk Park on Sunday.
