Biffa SWFL North - Matchday 10
Sunday 19th March
Glenrothes Strollers v Dryburgh Athletic Development
Sunday sees Dryburgh travel across the Tay to meet Glenrothes Strollers, in a reverse of the opening day fixture. This marks the beginning of the second half of the condensed 2023 SWFL season.
The first meeting between the sides at DISC back in January was an entertaining 2-2 draw. Burgh led twice in the game through goals from Hope Ramage and Chloe Lord, but were denied victory in added time.
Since then both sides have had steady campaigns. Dryburgh have recorded 3 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats thus far, with their game against Westdyke falling victim of the weather last week.
Strollers have taken 17 points from their 9 matches and sit third in the table, just a point behind Inverurie Locos in second and a further six behind the leaders Forfar, in the race to be promoted to League One.
Dryburgh have had to contend with injuries and suspensions over the course of the last few weeks but are boosted by the return of a few key players this weekend. They will hope this can make the difference in what is sure to be a very difficult game against a strong, experienced Strollers side.
As has often been the case this season, in a very competitive Biffa SWFL North, it is sure to be a tight and entertaining game on Sunday. Kick off is at 1:30pm, at Overstenton Park, Glenrothes. Entry is free so why not come along and cheer on the teams.
Also, with no SWF Championship action this weekend it’s a ‘Dryburgh Development Twitter takeover’. So if you can’t make the game stay tuned to @dryburghgirls on Twitter for match updates.
