Scottish Womens Cup 3rd Round
BSC Glasgow Women v Dryburgh Athletic
Sunday 4th December
Sunday sees a first for Dryburgh Women as they make the trek down the A9 to Glasgow for their first ever meeting with BSC Glasgow in the Scottish Cup 3rd Round. Based on north west Glasgow, BSC are a big community sports club and in addition to their girls’ and women’s teams, they recently joined the ranks of clubs offering recreational football for women, which is great to see. Playing in National League One, BSC have had mixed fortunes this season and sit among a cluster of teams in the middle of the table. Although having had recent defeats against FC Edinburgh and Grampian Ladies in November, these will no doubt be brushed off by their squad, with their focus on this one off cup match on Sunday.
For Dryburgh, they go into the game with bags of confidence after an accomplished performance on Wednesday night in their 2-0 win against Hutchison Vale at Station Park. All parts of the ‘Burgh squad came together that night, with solid and skilful play in all areas of the pitch, with the ‘Burgh goals coming from Derrian Gollan and Alma Codegoni. Despite their momentum though, Dryburgh will undoubtedly be focussing on the usual basics and working hard on Sunday, to make sure it is their name going through to the next round.
The match kicks off at 1.30pm at Peterson Park, Yokermill Road, Glasgow. We look forward to seeing as many supporters as possible to cheer on our girls - c’mon the ‘Burgh!
