We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jordan Smith as First team coach with our SWF Championship squad - Dryburgh Athletic Women.
Jordan’s coaching journey has seen him gain valuable experience with Box Soccer and within Dundee United FC's youth academy, where he was tasked with focusing on the importance of teaching technical details to the individual player.
He now also is currently working full time in football, providing footballing opportunities to the local community.
Club Chairman John Beatt commented “We are really pleased to get Jordan on board. He’s been in the last couple of weeks and has impressed with his attention to detail in the sessions he’s been involved in.
For a club like Dryburgh, it’s really important for us to continue to concentrate on the development of our own players.
With the calibre of coach we already have in Head Coach Owen MacKenzie and now Jordan, the future looks bright for this young team.”
Jordan has this to say on joining Dryburgh “I’m really excited to start my journey with Dryburgh. For me, it’s the beginning of a new challenge and one I’m really looking forward to. After only 2 weeks it’s clear the see the squad has quality within it, now it’s just about getting the points on the board. The girls have already bought into the ideas that are being delivered to them, which makes life a lot easier as a coach. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with the girls, and getting the most out of each individual player, which will hopefully get us wins on a Sunday.”
Jordan’s first match on the sideline for Dryburgh is this Sunday with Inverness Caledonian Thistle the visitors in a 1.30pm KO at Glenesk park.
