Match preview
Scottish Championship
Hutchison Vale v Dryburgh Athletic
Sunday 4th September
Sunday’s SWF Championship fixture list sees Dryburgh travel to the capital for our first ever fixture against Hutchison Vale, who are part of a large community football club based in the west side of Edinburgh. They are a club with a long history, having been formed in 1940, and now have over 400 players across 20 teams.
Their women’s team has made a good start to the season so far. Last Sunday saw them win 3-1 in an away fixture against Morton, and this was on the back of their dramatic comeback the week before, winning 4-3 against Inverness having been 3-1 down.
Meanwhile Dryburgh will be keen to get points from the game, especially after putting so much into their match against Rossvale last Sunday but it was to no avail, with a 4-1 loss despite having lots of possession and pressure. To their credit though, Rossvale were ruthless in taking their chances. Dryburgh’s solitary goal was a well taken goal by Chelsey Lowney, whose efforts were recognised with her player of the match award.
The match is at Wester Hailes High School with a 2.30 pm kick off. Admission is £3, U18 are free.
C’mon the ‘Burgh!
